Dunvegan Castle is a castle located in Dunvegan, a small town in Scotland, on the Isle of Skye.
From the 13th century onwards it was the residence of the Clan MacLeod and the oldest castle in Scotland to be inhabited continuously. Since 1933 it has been open to the public, leading to a substantial increase in tourism in the area. The castle has been visited by many prominent personalities, such as Walter Scott, Samuel Johnson, Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom and Akihito.
