Artist's Description

Philadelphia Independence Hall - 02 by Andrea Mazzocchetti

Independence Hall is a building in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; to be precise, it is located on Chestnut Street, between the 5th and 6th Street. It is mainly known for being the building where the United States Declaration of Independence was discussed and ratified. The building was completed in 1753 and took the name Pennsylvania State House, home of the Pennsylvania Province. It became the meeting place of the Second Continental Congress during the American Revolution. The Declaration of Independence, the Articles of the Confederation and the Constitution of the United States were signed at Independence Hall. The building is now part of the larger Independence National Historical Park and is included among the World Heritage Sites.
