Mustang P51D - 33
The P-51D was a low-wing, all-metal, single-seater and single-engine monoplane (except for the P-82 bi-fuselage derivative), with cross-hatches and a retractable rear tricycle. The wing with a frontal dihedral of 5 ° was characterized by the use, for the first time on an operating plane, of the new low resistance wing profiles, called laminar, obtained by moving the maximum thickness of the profile towards the exit edge. Constructively, each semiflate, bilongherone, was on 21 ribs, and both were connected to the central trunk of the fuselage by front bolting, going to make up the floor of the driver's cockpit with their backs.
