Description
Sevilla - Santa Cruz Square by Andrea Mazzocchetti
The Plaza de Santa Cruz, gives its name to the neighborhood of Santa Cruz, Seville. Its location was once occupied by the primitive Church of Santa Cruz.
The cross was made by Sebastian Conde in 1692, and it's located in the center of the garden that decorates the square. This cross was located until 1840 at the main commercial street (calle Sierpes), where it meets the street Rioja. The cross is designed as a lamp cross with four snakes coming out, referring to the Calle Sierpes (Snarke Stree in english)t, its original place of installation.
